In the role of Laboratory Engineer, you will be part of Thermo Fisher Scientific's Immuno Diagnostics Division (IDD), where diagnostic tests for allergies, asthma, and autoimmune diseases are developed and manufactured. The position is located in the Manufacturing ISAC/Rapid team, a group of ten people working with small-scale products and responsible for the production of ImmunoCAP ISAC and ImmunoCAP Rapid. The work includes the manufacturing of the ImmunoCAP ISAC test, trend monitoring, and ongoing improvement and optimization of existing methods and processes. In the lab, glass slides are prepared and coated, components are applied using advanced spotting equipment, and all production is carefully documented according to quality requirements. The role also involves taking responsibility for troubleshooting, driving deviation investigations, and leading activities to prevent problems and improve workflow. This is a consulting assignment, which means you will be employed by Academic Work and work as a consultant at Thermo Fisher Scientific. The assignment will be full-time and is expected to last at least until the end of September 2026. There may be an opportunity for extension, provided that there is room for it and that all parties are satisfied with the collaboration.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

Your daily work includes:

Supply of glass slides
Coating of glass slides in a lab environment
Spotting of components with advanced spotting equipment
Inspection of spotted chips
Withdrawal and cancellations of process orders in the SAP business system
Review of manufacturing documentation
Supervision, maintenance, and basic upkeep of equipment
You document your work continuously according to QSR requirements and ensure that manufacturing follows established process specifications
Troubleshooting
Deviation investigation
Lead and drive investigations and improvement activities

WE ARE LOOKING FOR YOU WHO

Has a laboratory technician education or a university degree in a relevant field
Has experience in laboratory work
Has experience working according to LEAN principles
Has good experience working in a quality-regulated environment (GMP, QSR, or ISO 13485)
Is very comfortable with Swedish and English in both speech and writing as the work is performed in both languages

It is an advantage, but not a requirement, if you have worked in a similar role before.
